Dr Mominul Hassan is an Australian trained Specialist Pain Medicine Physician with vast experience and multiple skills and ability to manage the whole person with pain.

Qualifcations:
Dual Specialist Qualifications:

  1. Fellowship of The Royal Australian Colleges of General Practitioners (FRACGP) 
  2. Fellowship of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA). 

Clinical expertise: 

  1. Management of Acute and Chronic Post-Surgical pain
  2. Pre-Surgical pain optimisation for better surgical outcomes.
  3. Management of chronic Headache, Muscle/Joint pain, Spinal pain, Visceral pain, Neuropathic pain, Complex regional pain, Generalised body pain, Chronic Pelvic pain and Post amputation pain.
  4. Management of Pain in special population ie Elderly, Pregnancy and Breast Feeding
  5. Management of Pain in patients with Drug/Alcohol dependence and complex Psychiatric co-morbidities:  severe Anxiety, major Depression, PTSD, Psychosis, and Personality disorders.
  6. Managing pain patients with complex medical co-morbidities: CKD/Dialysis, liver and heart failures.
  7. Work cover injury or Third-party insurance claims.

Pain Intervention:

        Peripheral Nerves and Joints blocks, Sympathetic ganglion blocks, Radiofrequency ablation, PRP  injections, Intradiscal injections, Basivertibral nerve ablation, Neuromodulation.

Training:

  1. Trained in Psychiatry at Graylands Hospital -The state referral psychiatric hospital in Western Australia.
  2. Completed Basic Physician training (RACP) at Fremantle Hospital -a tertiary hospital in Perth, Western Australia 
  3. Trained in Emergency Medicine in Bunbury Base Hospital and Mildura Base Hospital 
  4. Trained in Australian General Practice Training program (AGPT) – Common wealth funded 
  5. Trained as Pain Fellow in Liverpool Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Concord Hospital in Sydney, Australia 
  6. Currently undergoing Procedural Endorsement Program with Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australia 

Special Interest:

Dr Hassan has special interest in various pain interventions, Neuro-modulation, Chemotherapy induced pain and Lower limb pain. He is involved with research team at Sydney Pain Management Centre.

Pain Philosophy:

Sir William Osler said “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease. “Chronic pain is a disease. Identifying the correct pain originator and treating the whole person can greatly reduce the pain burden of the patient. Some pain is preventable, and Some pain is curable.
