How we can help practitioners

The Sydney Pain Management Centre can help reduce and manage complex pain. Often patients are sent to SPMC after many attempts to address their pain, including various medications. Opioid use is becoming a problem for Australia and for GP’s prescribing. The collective at SPMC are here to help and will ensure we look at alternative options to help patients, with reducing medications as a key goal. We aim to provide advanced and evidence – based treatments tailored to suit each patient.

How do I make a referral?

We have made it simple for referring doctors. Please use the online referral form.

What is the waiting period for referrals?

Waiting periods are normally between four and eight weeks. Urgent cases can be fast tracked when necessary.

How can I support my patient after they start treatment at SPMC?

Referring GPs and rehabilitation providers are highly encouraged to be involved in their patients Pain Management Plan. We ensure we keep every referring doctor up to date with comprehensive reports and ensure open communication channels. Once you are a referring Doctor to SPMC, we ensure we develop and continue to have open and genuine professional relationships. Our goal is a mutual one, to reduce the patient’s pain and improve their quality of life.
