Dr Vahid Mohabbati trained as an Emergency Physician before completing his Postgraduate Fellowship in Pain Medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, further training at Sydney, Westmead and Nepean hospitals.

This was followed by training in Palliative Medicine (Royal Prince Alfred and Concord hospitals, Sydney West Cancer Network and Hammond Care (Neringah, Greenwich and Royal North Shore hospitals).

Dr Mohabbati has 3 Fellowships: The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FAChPM) and The Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, Faculty of Pain Medicine(FFPMANZCA).
Traditionally cancer pain has been treated with pharmacotherapy only, however Dr Mohabbati utilises cutting edge modalities such as nerve blocks, regional anaesthesia, radiofrequency lesioning and spinal implants (intrathecal pumps, spinal cord stimulators, DRG and peripheral nerve stimulators). He is a Sydney University and University of NSW Clinical Lecturer.
