Dr Trudi Richmond is an experienced pain and rehabilitation physician who enjoys facilitating injured workers to return to work and uses her knowledge from her time in Occupational Medicine to do this.
Special Interests
Dr Richmond’s areas of interest are chronic musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, persistent postoperative pain and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
Her main areas of interest in rehabilitation medicine are prehabilitation, postoperative rehabilitation and traumatic brain injury medicine.
Training
Dr Richmond graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 before completing residency training in Queensland and Ireland.
Following her residency, she gained extensive experience in occupational medicine setting working in the industry for nearly ten years.
Her occupational medicine experience has seen her working both in the office treating injured workers and assisting them back to work as well as performing pre-employment medicals, executive health medicals, rail medicals, AMSA medicals and health surveillance medicals.
She also enjoyed working on-site performing health surveillance medicals and evaluating the job demands of various occupations and the potential for injuries at these sites.
Dr Richmond’s passion for pain medicine and rehabilitation saw her returning to the inpatient hospital setting in 2013.
She then went on to complete her specialty training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst, Royal North Shore Hospital, The National Centre for Veterans’ Affairs at Concord Hospital as well as several private hospitals in Sydney.
